The Esquires were an American R&B group formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the late 1950s. The original lineup consisted of Gilbert Moorer, Alvis Moorer, Shawn Taylor, and Betty Moorer. They are best known for their hit songs "Get on Up" and "And Get Away", both released in the 1960s. "Get on Up" peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967, becoming their biggest commercial success. The Esquires were known for their energetic live performances and harmonious vocal arrangements, which helped them establish a strong fan base during the peak of their career.
