Artist Bio:
The Excellents were an American doo-wop vocal group formed in Brooklyn, New York in the late 1950s. The group consisted of lead singer John Kuse, Phil Sanchez, Denis Kestenbaum, Joel Feldman, and Chuck Epstein. They are best known for their hit song "Coney Island Baby," which was released in 1962 and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a doo-wop classic and is considered one of the group's signature tunes.

Despite their brief commercial success, The Excellents disbanded in the mid-1960s. However, they left a lasting impact on the doo-wop genre with their harmonious vocals and nostalgic sound. "Coney Island Baby" continues to be a popular song among doo-wop enthusiasts and has been featured in various compilations and oldies radio stations over the years.
