Artist Bio:
The Exciters were an American pop music group from Queens, New York, formed in 1961. The group originally consisted of lead singer Brenda Reid, her husband Herb Rooney, Carol Johnson, and Lillian Walker. They are best known for their hit song "Tell Him," which was released in 1962 and reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Exciters' music was characterized by their energetic and soulful vocal performances, with a sound that blended pop, R&B, and rock and roll.

In addition to "Tell Him," The Exciters had other successful singles such as "He's Got the Power" and "Do-Wah-Diddy." They continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s, but never replicated the success of their early hits. The Exciters' music has been influential in the pop and R&B genres, and they are remembered as an important part of the 1960s music scene.
