They released their self-titled album "The Family" in 1985, which was produced and largely written by Prince. The album featured a mix of funk, pop, and R&B sounds, and received critical acclaim for its innovative production and vocal performances.
Despite the critical success of the album, The Family disbanded shortly after its release due to internal conflicts and tensions within the group.
