Artist Bio:
The Fireballs were an American rock and roll group formed in Raton, New Mexico in 1958. The band's most famous lineup consisted of George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums), and Dan Trammell (rhythm guitar). They are best known for their instrumental hit "Torquay" released in 1959, which reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Fireballs were also known for their distinctive blend of rock and roll, country, and R&B influences, which helped define the sound of early 1960s rock music.

In addition to "Torquay," The Fireballs had several other hits including "Bulldog," "Quite a Party," and their biggest hit "Sugar Shack," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963. The Fireballs continued to release music and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with various lineup changes, before disbanding in the late 1970s. Their music continues to be celebrated for its energetic and innovative approach to early rock and roll.
