Artist Bio:
The Fireballs were an American rock and roll group formed in Raton, New Mexico in 1958. The band's original lineup consisted of George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals and rhythm guitar), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums), and Dan Trammell (keys). They are best known for their instrumental hit singles "Torquay" and "Bulldog," which both reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1960.
The Fireballs' music is often described as a combination of rock and roll, rockabilly, and surf rock, with a distinctive twangy guitar sound. They continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with varying degrees of commercial success. The band's influence can be heard in the work of later artists and bands such as The Ventures and The Shadows.
