The band's original lineup consisted of George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals and rhythm guitar), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums), and Dan Trammell (keyboards). They are best known for their instrumental hit singles "Torquay" and "Bulldog" released in the early 1960s.
The Fireballs achieved commercial success with their unique blend of rock and roll, pop, and country music influences. They were one of the pioneering bands in the surf music genre, and their energetic and catchy sound earned them a dedicated fan base.
