The band members included George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals and rhythm guitar), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums), and Dan Trammell (keys). They are best known for their hit singles "Torquay" and "Bulldog," both of which reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1960.
The Fireballs were instrumental in the development of the surf rock genre, incorporating elements of country and rockabilly into their music.
