The Five Americans were a rock band formed in Durant, Oklahoma in 1962. The band members included Mike Rabon, John Durrill, Norman Ezell, Jim Grant, and Jimmy Wright. They are best known for their hit songs "I See the Light" and "Western Union" which both reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the 1960s.


The Five Americans were known for their catchy melodies, harmonies, and energetic performances. They released several albums during their career, including "I See the Light" and "Western Union." The band's music is often described as a mix of garage rock, pop, and psychedelic rock influences. Despite achieving some success with their singles, The Five Americans ultimately disbanded in the early 1970s.
