The Five Blobs were a fictional group created by musician and composer Bernie Nee in 1959 for the horror movie "The Blob." The group was made up of Nee himself, who recorded all the vocal parts multiple times to create the sound of a five-member group. The Five Blobs recorded the song "The Blob," which served as the theme song for the film and became a surprise hit, reaching number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1958.
Despite the success of "The Blob" song, The Five Blobs did not have any further hits or releases. The group's sole contribution to the music industry remains their iconic theme song for the horror movie that gave them their name.
