Artist Bio:
The Flaming Ember was an American blue-eyed soul and R&B group formed in Detroit, Michigan in the late 1960s. The band's original members included Joe Sladich, Bill Ellis, Thomas Graves, and Jerry Plunk, with Howard Hausey joining later. They are best known for their hit single "Mind, Body and Soul," which reached number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1969.
The Flaming Ember released three studio albums during their career: "Sunshine," "Westbound #9," and "Filet de Soul." They were signed to the Hot Wax label, which was co-founded by the famous songwriting and producing team Holland-Dozier-Holland. The group's music combined elements of soul, R&B, and rock, and they gained popularity for their energetic live performances. Despite not achieving extensive commercial success, The Flaming Ember left a lasting impact on the music scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
