The Flamingos were an American doo-wop group formed in Chicago in 1953. The original members were Zeke Carey, Jake Carey, Johnny Carter, Earl Lewis, and Paul Wilson. Their most popular lineup included Sollie McElroy, Nate Nelson, Tommy Hunt, and Terry "Buzzy" Johnson, who joined in the late 1950s.
The Flamingos are best known for their hit songs, "I Only Have Eyes for You" and "Lovers Never Say Goodbye." They were known for their smooth harmonies and elegant vocal arrangements, which set them apart from other doo-wop groups of the time. The Flamingos were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, recognizing their influence on the doo-wop genre and their enduring legacy in the music industry.
