Artist Bio:
The Flying Machine was a British pop band that was active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was best known for their 1970 hit single "Smile a Little Smile for Me," which reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Flying Machine was formed in 1969 and consisted of members including lead vocalist Steve Jones, guitarist Paul Wilkinson, bassist Sam Kempe, drummer Stuart Emery, and keyboardist Chris Morphet.
Despite the success of "Smile a Little Smile for Me," The Flying Machine struggled to replicate the same level of commercial success with their subsequent releases. The band eventually disbanded in the early 1970s, with members going on to pursue other musical endeavors. Despite their relatively short-lived career, The Flying Machine left a lasting impact on the pop music scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s with their catchy and melodic tunes.
