The Fools were an American rock band formed in 1975 in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The band's original lineup consisted of Rich Bartlett (vocals, keyboards), Stacey Pedrick (vocals, guitar), Doug Owen (bass), Chris Pedrick (drums), and Mike Girard (vocals). Known for their comedic and theatrical stage presence, The Fools gained popularity in the Boston music scene for their energetic live performances and humorous lyrics.
The Fools released their self-titled debut album in 1979, which featured their most well-known song "Psycho Chicken" a parody of the Talking Heads' hit "Psycho Killer." The band continued to release several albums throughout the 1980s, including "Sold Out" in 1980 and "World Dance Party" in 1985. Despite never achieving mainstream success, The Fools maintained a dedicated fan base and continued to perform live shows into the 2000s.
