The Four Knights were an American vocal group popular in the 1950s. The group was formed in 1943 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and consisted of Gene Alford, Oscar Broadway, Clarence Dixon, and John Wallace. They initially started performing gospel music before transitioning to R&B and doo-wop.
The Four Knights found success with hits like "I Get So Lonely," "I Love the Sunshine of Your Smile," and "Oh, Happy Day." They were signed to Capitol Records and Decca Records during their career. The group's harmonious vocal style and smooth sound earned them a loyal following and established their reputation as one of the prominent vocal groups of the era. The Four Knights disbanded in the late 1950s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of doo-wop and R&B.
