The Four Preps were an American popular music vocal group popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The group was formed by four high school friends from Hollywood High School in California: Bruce Belland, Ed Cobb, Marv Ingram, and Glen Larson. They gained fame with their smooth harmonies and catchy tunes, and were known for their clean-cut image and upbeat sound.
The Four Preps achieved success with hits such as "26 Miles (Santa Catalina)", "Big Man", and "Down by the Station". They also appeared in several movies and TV shows, including performances on The Ed Sullivan Show. The group disbanded in the mid-1960s, but reunited periodically for special performances and recordings. The Four Preps were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, recognizing their contribution to the music industry during the golden era of vocal groups.
