The Gants were an American rock band formed in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1963. The band members included Sid Herring (vocals), Vince Montgomery (lead guitar), Johnny Freeman (rhythm guitar), Don Wood (bass), and Jerry McRae (drums). They gained popularity in the mid-1960s with their garage rock sound and energetic live performances.
Their most well-known songs include "Road Runner" and "I Wonder." The Gants released several singles and albums during their career, with their music often described as a mix of rock, blues, and pop influences. Despite achieving some regional success, the band struggled to break into the mainstream and eventually disbanded in the late 1960s. The Gants have since gained a cult following among fans of 1960s garage rock music.
