The Gap Band was an American R&B and funk band formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1970s. The band consisted of three brothers: Charlie, Ronnie, and Robert Wilson. They achieved mainstream success in the late 1970s and 1980s with their energetic live performances and hits such as "Outstanding," "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," and "Burn Rubber on Me."


The Gap Band was known for their infectious grooves, catchy melodies, and high-energy performances. They were influential in the funk and R&B music scene of the time, earning several Grammy nominations and establishing a loyal fan base. The band disbanded in the late 1990s after a successful career that spanned over two decades.
