The Georgia Satellites are an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1980. The band's original lineup consisted of Dan Baird (vocals, guitar), Rick Richards (lead guitar), Rick Price (bass), and Mauro Magellan (drums). They are best known for their hit single "Keep Your Hands to Yourself," which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1986. The Georgia Satellites' music is characterized by a blend of Southern rock, blues, and hard rock influences.


The band released their self-titled debut album in 1986, which also featured the popular tracks "Battleship Chains" and "Can't Stand the Pain." The Georgia Satellites continued to release albums throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, with varying commercial success. Despite lineup changes over the years, the band has maintained a loyal fan base and continues to perform live shows.
