The Girlfriends were an American girl group formed in 1961 in New York City. The original lineup consisted of Betty Weiss, Ginger Blake, and Carol Carmell. They were signed to Colpix Records and released several singles throughout the 1960s. Their most popular song, "My One and Only Jimmy Boy," reached number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963.
The group is known for their harmony-driven pop sound and catchy melodies. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, The Girlfriends were well-regarded for their vocal abilities and their contributions to the girl group genre of the 1960s.
