The Hillside Singers were a folk group formed in 1971 by advertising agency McCann Erickson to perform the song "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In Perfect Harmony)" for a Coca-Cola commercial. The group consisted of 14 members, including soloist Lorri Perry, and they released an album titled "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" in 1972. The album featured a mix of original songs and covers, and it reached number 24 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Hillside Singers' version of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" became a hit single, reaching number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earning a gold certification. The group disbanded in the mid-1970s, but their rendition of the iconic song continues to be associated with the Coca-Cola commercial and is remembered as a classic piece of advertising music.
