Artist Bio:
The Hondells were an American surf rock band formed in 1964. They were created as a studio group by record producer Gary Usher to capitalize on the popularity of surf music. The group's name was a play on the Honda motorcycles which were popular in Southern California at the time.
Their most famous hit was "Little Honda" which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1964. The song was a cover of the Beach Boys' tune and solidified The Hondells as one of the notable surf rock bands of the era. Despite their success, The Hondells were primarily a studio group with various musicians coming in and out of the lineup, and they disbanded in the late 1960s.
