Artist Bio:
The Honey Cone was an American R&B and soul girl group formed in 1967. The group consisted of three members: lead singer Edna Wright, Carolyn Willis, and Shelly Clark. They were signed to the Hot Wax record label, which was founded by the songwriting and producing team Holland-Dozier-Holland.
The Honey Cone achieved commercial success in the early 1970s with hits like "Want Ads" and "Stick-Up." "Want Ads" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1971, making them the first girl group to top the chart since The Supremes. The group disbanded in the mid-1970s, but their music continues to be celebrated for its catchy melodies and strong vocal performances.
