Artist Bio:
The Honey Cone was an American R&B and soul girl group formed in 1967. The group consisted of lead singer Edna Wright, Carolyn Willis, and Shelly Clark. They were best known for their hit songs "Want Ads" and "Stick-Up." "Want Ads" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1971 and earned the group a gold record. The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group.


The Honey Cone was signed to the Hot Wax record label, which was founded by the renowned songwriting and production team Holland-Dozier-Holland. The group released several albums in the early 1970s before disbanding in 1973. Despite their relatively short career, The Honey Cone left a lasting impact on the music industry with their soulful vocals and catchy tunes.
