Artist Bio

Artist Bio:
The Honey Cone was an American R&B and soul girl group formed in 1967. The group originally consisted of lead singer Edna Wright, Carolyn Willis, and Shelly Clark. They were signed to Hot Wax Records, a label owned by the songwriting and producing team of Holland-Dozier-Holland. The Honey Cone scored their biggest hit in 1971 with the song "Want Ads," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became one of the best-selling singles of the year.

In addition to "Want Ads," The Honey Cone had other successful singles such as "Stick-Up," "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show," and "The Day I Found Myself." The group's music was known for its catchy melodies, strong vocals, and socially conscious lyrics. The Honey Cone disbanded in the mid-1970s, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of classic R&B and soul music.
