Artist Bio:
The Impressions are an American music group that was formed in 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. The group originally consisted of members Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden, Fred Cash, and Arthur and Richard Brooks. They are best known for their soulful and gospel-influenced music that helped define the sound of the Chicago soul music scene in the 1960s.

The Impressions achieved commercial success with hits such as "It's All Right," "People Get Ready," and "Keep on Pushing." Their music often featured socially conscious lyrics that reflected the civil rights movement of the time. The group's smooth harmonies and Curtis Mayfield's distinctive falsetto vocals set them apart in the R&B and soul music genres. The Impressions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 in recognition of their influence and contributions to the music industry.
