Artist Bio:
The Impressions were an American music group formed in Chicago in 1958. The group originally consisted of members Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden, Fred Cash, and Arthur Brooks. They were known for their blend of gospel-influenced harmonies and soulful melodies, which helped define the sound of Chicago soul music in the 1960s.

The Impressions achieved commercial success with hits such as "It's All Right," "People Get Ready," and "Gypsy Woman." Curtis Mayfield's socially conscious songwriting and smooth falsetto vocals were key elements of their signature sound. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, recognizing their influence on soul music and their enduring impact on popular music.
