Artist Bio:
The Impressions were an American music group originally formed in 1958. They were known for their smooth vocal harmonies and blend of soul, R&B, and gospel music. The original lineup consisted of members Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden, Fred Cash, and Arthur Brooks.

The group achieved commercial success in the 1960s with hits like "Gypsy Woman," "It's All Right," and "People Get Ready." Their music often featured socially conscious lyrics that reflected the civil rights movement of the time. Curtis Mayfield, the group's primary songwriter, went on to have a successful solo career after leaving The Impressions in the late 1960s. The Impressions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 in recognition of their contributions to soul music and their influence on future generations of musicians.
