Artist Bio:
The Impressions are an American music group that originated in Chicago in the late 1950s. The group was initially formed as The Roosters by Sam Gooden, Richard Brooks, and Arthur Brooks. They later added lead singer Jerry Butler and changed their name to The Impressions. The group is known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, blending gospel and R&B influences.

One of their most famous hits is "People Get Ready," which was written by group member Curtis Mayfield. The song became a civil rights anthem and is considered one of the greatest songs of all time. The Impressions had a string of successful hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including "It's All Right," "Keep on Pushing," and "We're a Winner." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and are considered one of the pioneering groups of soul music.
