Artist Bio:
The Impressions were an American music group formed in Chicago in 1958. The original members were Jerry Butler, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Gooden, Fred Cash, and Arthur Brooks. They were one of the pioneering forces of soul music and are best known for their smooth harmonies and socially conscious lyrics.

The Impressions had several hits in the 1960s, including "It's All Right," "People Get Ready," and "Keep On Pushing." Their music often reflected the civil rights and black pride movements of the time. Curtis Mayfield, the group's primary songwriter, was known for his poignant and thought-provoking lyrics. The Impressions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, recognizing their influence on the development of soul music.
