The Innocence was a vocal group formed in the 1970s. They were best known for their hit song "There's Got to Be a Word!" released in 1966, which reached number 34 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group consisted of Tony Aleguas, Mike Maniscalco, and Tommy Sullivan. They were signed to the Kama Sutra label, which was also home to other successful acts such as The Lovin' Spoonful.
Despite their brief time in the spotlight, The Innocence left a lasting impact on the music scene with their catchy pop sound and tight harmonies. They continued to perform and release music throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s before eventually disbanding. Their music continues to be celebrated by fans of 1960s pop music.
