The Intruders were an American soul music group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. They were originally a doo-wop group but later transitioned to a more soulful sound. The original members were Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, Eugene "Bird" Daughtry, Phillip "Phil" Terry, and Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards. They are best known for their hit songs "Cowboys to Girls" and "I'll Always Love My Mama", both of which reached the top of the R&B charts in the 1960s and 1970s.


The Intruders were one of the many successful vocal groups to come out of Philadelphia during the soul music era. They were known for their smooth harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, which resonated with audiences. The group continued to perform and record music throughout the 1970s and 1980s, solidifying their place in the history of soul music.
