The Intruders were an American soul music group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. The original members were Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, Eugene "Bird" Daughtry, Phillip "Phil" Terry, and Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards. The group was known for their smooth harmonies and hits such as "Cowboys to Girls" and "I'll Always Love My Mama."
The Intruders were one of the pioneering groups of the Philadelphia soul sound, which combined elements of doo-wop, gospel, and R&B. They achieved their greatest success in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Intruders were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999, recognizing their contributions to the soul music genre.
