The Intruders were an American soul music group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. The original members were Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, Eugene "Bird" Daughtry, Phil Terry, and Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards. The group is best known for their hits in the 1960s and 1970s, including "Cowboys to Girls" and "I'll Always Love My Mama."
The Intruders were signed to Gamble and Huff's Philadelphia International Records in the early 1970s, where they continued to achieve success with their soulful harmonies and romantic ballads. Their music has been influential in the development of soul and R&B music, and they have been recognized as one of the pioneering groups of the Philadelphia soul sound. The Intruders were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.
