The Irish Rovers are a Canadian Irish folk group formed in 1963. The original members of the band were George Millar, Jimmy Ferguson, Joe Millar, Wilcil McDowell, and Will Millar. They are best known for their hit songs "The Unicorn," "Whiskey in the Jar," and "Drunken Sailor." The Irish Rovers have released over 40 albums throughout their career and have toured extensively, gaining a large following around the world.
The band's music is characterized by their energetic performances, traditional folk instrumentation, and storytelling lyrics. They have been nominated for multiple Juno Awards and have received the SOCAN National Achievement Award.
