The J. Geils Band was an American rock band formed in 1968 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The band's original members included J. Geils (guitar), Danny Klein (bass), Richard Salwitz, a.k.a. "Magic Dick" (harmonica), Stephen Jo Bladd (drums), and Peter Wolf (vocals). The band is best known for their energetic live performances and hits such as "Centerfold" and "Love Stinks."
Throughout their career, The J. Geils Band released several successful albums and toured extensively, gaining a reputation for their high-energy shows and blues-inspired rock sound. The band achieved commercial success in the 1970s and early 1980s before disbanding in 1985. Despite their breakup, The J. Geils Band's music continues to be celebrated by fans of classic rock and their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary artists.
