The J. Geils Band was an American rock band formed in 1968 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The band's original members were guitarist John "J." Geils, vocalist Peter Wolf, harmonica player Magic Dick, bassist Danny Klein, keyboardist Seth Justman, and drummer Stephen Bladd. The band gained commercial success in the 1970s with their energetic live performances and a blend of rock, R&B, and blues influences.
Their most popular album, "Freeze Frame," was released in 1981 and featured the hit song "Centerfold," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The J. Geils Band was known for their high-energy live shows and Wolf's charismatic stage presence. The band disbanded in 1985, but their music continues to be celebrated by fans of classic rock.
