Artist Bio:
The J. Geils Band was an American rock band formed in 1967 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The band was named after its original guitarist, John Geils. The group's music was a mix of rock, blues, and soul, and they were known for their high-energy live performances. The J. Geils Band achieved commercial success in the 1970s with hits like "Love Stinks" and "Centerfold," which reached the top of the charts in the early 1980s. The band's most well-known album, "Freeze-Frame," was released in 1981 and became their most successful record, reaching multi-platinum status. Despite their popularity, the J. Geils Band disbanded in 1985 after a decade of making music together.

The J. Geils Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. The band's career was marked by their dynamic sound, led by frontman Peter Wolf's charismatic vocals and Geils' electrifying guitar playing. Though they may be best remembered for their hits from the 1980s, the J. Geils Band's influence on the rock music scene of the 1970s and 1980s is undeniable.
