Artist Bio:
The Jarmels were an American doo-wop group formed in 1960 in New York City. The group consisted of members Nate McCalla, Paul Burnett, Ray Smith, Earl Christian, and Tom Eldridge. Their most famous and successful song was "A Little Bit of Soap," which was released in 1961 and reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was also a hit in the UK, where it reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.
Despite the success of "A Little Bit of Soap," The Jarmels were not able to replicate the same level of success with their other recordings. The group disbanded in the mid-1960s, but their music continues to be remembered and celebrated by doo-wop fans and collectors. The Jarmels' unique vocal harmonies and smooth sound contributed to their brief but notable presence in the doo-wop music scene of the early 1960s.
