Artist Bio:
The Jive Five With Joe Rene And Orchestra was an American doo-wop group that formed in Brooklyn, New York in the early 1960s. The group's lineup consisted of Eugene Pitt, Richard Harris, Norman Johnson, and Billy Prophet. They are best known for their hit song "My True Story" which reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart and number three on the Billboard Pop chart in 1961. The Jive Five With Joe Rene And Orchestra continued to release music throughout the 1960s, but they never reached the same level of commercial success as they did with "My True Story."

The group's unique blend of doo-wop and soul music, combined with Eugene Pitt's distinctive lead vocals, set them apart from other acts of the time. The Jive Five With Joe Rene And Orchestra's music has since become a classic example of the doo-wop genre and continues to be celebrated by fans of 1960s music.
