Artist Bio:
The King Pins were an American rock and roll group formed in 1959 in New York City. The band was known for their energetic live performances and catchy rhythm and blues-influenced songs. The King Pins released several singles during the 1960s, including "It Won't Be This Way Always" and "Door Banger." They were signed to the Atco and Federal record labels.


The group's lineup included lead vocalist George Tindley, guitarist and vocalist Robert "Squirrel" Lester, keyboardist and vocalist Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, saxophonist and vocalist Clarence "Big" Miller, and bassist and vocalist Charles "Chalky" Otis. The King Pins were active until the mid-1960s when they disbanded. Despite their short-lived career, The King Pins left a lasting impact on the rock and roll scene of the 1960s.
