The Kingsmen are an American rock band formed in Portland, Oregon in 1959. They are best known for their hit song "Louie Louie," which was released in 1963. The song became a controversial hit due to its indecipherable lyrics and was even investigated by the FBI for supposed obscenities, although no wrongdoing was found. "Louie Louie" eventually became a garage rock anthem and is considered one of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time.

The Kingsmen continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with some lineup changes over the years. Despite never replicating the success of "Louie Louie," the band maintained a loyal fan base and continued to perform live shows. They were inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2007 to honor their contribution to rock music.
