The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London in 1964. The band consisted of brothers Ray and Dave Davies, along with Mick Avory and Peter Quaife. They were part of the British Invasion of the United States in the mid-1960s and are known for their raw, energetic sound and rebellious attitude.


The Kinks are considered one of the most influential and important rock bands of the 1960s, with hits such as "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," and "Lola." They were known for their catchy melodies, edgy lyrics, and social commentary in their music. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and their music continues to be celebrated for its impact on the rock genre.
