Artist Bio:
The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. The band's original lineup consisted of Ray Davies on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Dave Davies on lead guitar and backing vocals, Pete Quaife on bass guitar, and Mick Avory on drums. The Kinks were a part of the British Invasion of the US music scene in the 1960s, alongside bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

The Kinks are known for their distinctive sound which blended elements of rock, pop, and British music hall traditions. Some of their most famous songs include "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," "Waterloo Sunset," and "Lola." The band's music often touched on themes of working-class life and social issues, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
