Artist Bio:
The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964. The band consisted of brothers Ray and Dave Davies, Mick Avory, and Peter Quaife. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s British Invasion era and are known for their distinctive sound, characterized by Ray Davies' songwriting, Dave Davies' raw guitar riffs, and their social commentary lyrics. The Kinks are best known for hit songs such as "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," and "Lola."

Throughout their career, The Kinks underwent various lineup changes and musical shifts, exploring different genres like rock, pop, and even music hall. Despite internal conflicts and struggles with record labels, The Kinks left a lasting impact on the music industry and are considered pioneers of the punk rock and Britpop movements. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
