Artist Bio:
The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies. The original lineup also included Mick Avory on drums and Pete Quaife on bass. The band was part of the British Invasion in the 1960s and is known for their songs that often reflected British working-class themes and social issues. They are considered one of the most influential bands of the 1960s and are often cited as a precursor to the punk rock movement.

The Kinks are best known for hit songs like "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," and "Lola." Their music style ranged from garage rock and R&B to more complex arrangements and social commentary in later albums. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and their music continues to be celebrated for its originality and influence on subsequent generations of rock musicians.
