Artist Bio:
The Kinks were an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, in 1964. The band consisted of brothers Ray and Dave Davies, as well as Mick Avory and Pete Quaife. They were part of the British Invasion of the US in the 1960s and are known for their hits such as "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night," and "Lola."
The Kinks were considered one of the most influential and important rock bands of the 1960s, known for their raw, energetic sound and clever, often satirical lyrics. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and are credited with helping to shape the development of rock music, particularly in the punk and Britpop movements that followed. The band officially disbanded in 1996, but their music continues to be celebrated and influential to this day.
