Artist Bio:
The Knack was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. The band consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Doug Fieger, lead guitarist Berton Averre, bassist Prescott Niles, and drummer Bruce Gary. Their most famous and successful song was "My Sharona", which was released in 1979 and topped the charts in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The song was featured on their debut album, "Get the Knack", which also achieved commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Despite their initial success, The Knack struggled to replicate the same level of popularity with their subsequent albums. The band disbanded in the early 1980s but reunited in the 1990s and continued to perform and release new music until Doug Fieger's passing in 2010. The Knack's music is often associated with the power pop genre, characterized by its catchy melodies and energetic performances.
