Artist Bio:
The Knack was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. The band consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Doug Fieger, lead guitarist Berton Averre, bassist Prescott Niles, and drummer Bruce Gary. Their debut album, "Get the Knack," was released in 1979 and became a commercial success, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's lead single, "My Sharona," also topped the charts and became a massive hit, staying at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. The Knack's sound was characterized by its catchy melodies, power pop style, and Fieger's distinctive vocals.
Despite their initial success, The Knack never achieved the same level of popularity with their subsequent albums. The band continued to release music throughout the 1980s and 1990s, but they were never able to replicate the success of their debut album. The Knack disbanded in 1982 but reunited in various formations over the years. Doug Fieger passed away in 2010, and the band officially disbanded in 2011.
