Artist Bio:
The Lemon Pipers were an American bubblegum pop and psychedelic rock band formed in 1966 in Oxford, Ohio. The band consisted of members Ivan Browne, William E. Albaugh, Bill Bartlett, Steve Walmsley, and Bob Nave. Their biggest hit was the song "Green Tambourine," released in 1968, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is known for its catchy melody and distinctive use of the tambourine.
Despite their commercial success with "Green Tambourine," The Lemon Pipers disbanded in 1969 after releasing only one album, "Green Tambourine." The band's music has been described as a mix of psychedelic rock, bubblegum pop, and garage rock. The Lemon Pipers are considered a one-hit wonder, but their signature song has remained popular and is often included in compilations of 1960s music.
